Bag Ladies is an exploration of the burdens beared by the feminine. Through movement, it embodies the constructs, experiences, and perceptions that women and female-identifying individuals navigate in their lives.

Created as part of the MA Screendance program at London Contemporary Dance School, this work explores the experiences of women across diverse ages, nationalities, and sexualities, each bringing their unique perspectives to the shared challenges of womanhood. Inspired by pivotal global events such as the overturning of Roe v. Wade in the United States, the tragic murder of Mahsa Amini in Iran, and a growing awareness of the profound weight society places on women, this piece delves into the resilience and strength women embody. Collaborating with these remarkable movers, I sought to uncover the tenacious spirit that drives women to persevere despite the immense burdens they carry.
